Photogenic Scar

Movies in the middle of the afternoon
Tickets are so cheap for matinees
Every time the credits roll it comes too soon
What else are we gonna do today?

I know you by your silhouette against the sun
I know you by your profile from afar
I know your features better than I know my own
You’re on me like a photogenic scar

So we slip out quietly and sneak into
The almost empty theater next door
You enjoy the picture and I like it too
But that’s not what we’re really in here for

The trailers blur together and they all look bad
They’re nothing that we don’t already know
They may take forever, but we’re not that sad
The wait is always better than the show
